About
Two workshops, one route to your table
Kilnstore is a small shop, not a marketplace. Everything we sell comes from two workshops we work with directly — a ceramics studio in Abeokuta and a weaving cooperative in Ilorin. We buy from them at a price they set, and we do not haggle them down.
The ceramics workshop, Abeokuta
Six potters working in a converted garage. They throw on two wheels, glaze in small batches and fire in a gas kiln twice a week. Because firing is small, a shape that sells out can take three weeks to come back. That is what the stock line on each product means.
[Client to supply: workshop photographs and the names of the makers, with their permission.]
The weaving cooperative, Ilorin
Narrow-loom weavers who work from home and bring finished cloth to a shared finishing room. The aso-oke throws are woven in panels and joined by hand. Panels vary slightly in width; that is the loom, not a fault.
[Client to supply: cooperative photographs and maker names.]

Returns
Fourteen days from delivery. The piece must be unused and in its original packaging. Email us and we will arrange collection in Lagos; outside Lagos you send it back and we refund the delivery cost as well. Broken in transit is always our cost, no argument.
Made-to-order and gift-boxed sets cannot be returned once the box is opened, unless the item is faulty. That exception is stated on the product page before you buy.
What we do not do
- We do not claim a piece is "handmade" when it is slip-cast. The product page says which.
- We do not show a countdown timer or a "3 people are looking at this" badge.
- We do not sell your email to anyone.
